Bullish on Future Prospects of PR

For the first time in 20 years, Korn Ferry’s Los Angeles-based Don Spetner says he’d actually recommend PR as a career choice for his children.  Once the head of PR for major corporations, including Nissan North America, Spetner is now EVP of Corporate Affairs for Korn Ferry International, a global recruiting firm. 

In a short on-camera interview with PR Week, Don said he’s never been more bullish on the long-term prospects of the profession, although we are in for some rough spots in the short term. 

He said clients are looking for the following qualities in PR professionals:

  • Keen understanding of business
  • Flexibility
  • Technology savvy
  • Creative thinker
  • High energy
